STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CEMETERY AND PARK DEPARTMENTS MUST AT LEAST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE BY THE FIRST DAY OF EMPLOYMENT TO OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT. ALL WANTING CONSIDERATION, INCLUDING FORMER EMPLOYEES, NEED TO APPLY THIS YEAR. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS,

There are 18 camping spaces with water and electric services provided. Restrooms and showers with hot and cold water are located close to the pads. The tent camping area includes grills and picnic tables, as well as a three acre fishing pond. The concession building which includes a brand new concession stand, restrooms, crows nest and maintenance shop is located near the rodeo arena and bleachers.
CARNEY PARK CAMPGROUND FEES
A tournament size complex of horseshoe pits (blue clay at stakes) has been completed. There are three well maintained softball fields with clay infields, as well.
O'Neill's swimming pool is located in the park. The pool hosts at least two large swimming meets in the summer months, one being the championship of the club of which The Blue Dolphins (O'Neill's Swimming Team) is a member. Al wading pool for toddlers with a large mushroom for the children to enjoy and a zero depth entrance.

The Schaffer Park Complex is located in the Northwest part of the city. Some years ago the land was donated by the Schaffer family for use as ballfields. There are three smaller fields located on the complex for Tee Ball. Also, there are fields for Little League, Pony League and the Legion Field is the largest field on the complex.
A crow's nest is located on each of these fields, with radio booths in the Legions crows nest. The modern restrooms and a very nice concession stand is located on the west side of the grounds. A new shop is located on the east side of the ballfields.
The former tennis courts just east of the Pony field were converted into a basketball court with six goals. Young trees have been planted yearly around the complex for beauty and for future shade.
The City of O'Neill recently completed work on an Obstacle Course Fitness Park near Seventh and Tipperary streets. The new park is one block east of the Lion's Kiddie Park. The park is supposed to be like a park in O'Neill's twin city, Wicklow in Blessington County, Ireland. The project was funded by the City of O'Neill sales tax through the community improvement fund and a 25 percent grant from Elevation Fitness.
Located on the north edge of the city and east of the new elementary school, Torpin's Soccer Field have ten fields of various sizes, all with underground sprinklers. Trees line the north and west sides of the complex. A parking lot, concession stand and restrooms are located on the north side, as well.
Located north of O'Neill's High School, this playground has a large assortment of equipment for children to enjoy. There are two picnic shelters with tables, as well as restroom facilities with running water. A new fenced tennis court has been added.
Reservations are required to ensure use of all park shelters and gazebos. Reservations are made by contacting the City of O'Neill's administrative office located at 401 East Fremont or call (402) 336-3640. Office hours are: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*Signs informing the public of this policy are posted in visible locations in all shelters and gazebos.
Procedure to secure reservation:
1) Contact the office and provide the following information:
a) Shelter Location b) Name c) Date d) Arrival & Departure Times e) Event
2) Upon completion of the reservation process, a receipt will be issued and must be available at the time of the event to secure the location, should another party occupy the site at the time of the arrival.
3) All City property used for the event must be left as found and the area must be cleaned.

The City thanks its citizens for their patience and understanding during the explosion and fire at the Parish Center. At this time Adams Street from 2nd Street to 4th Street and 3rd Street from John to Adams is closed to through traffic until further notice. John Prouty Construction and Randy North Construction are both on site for clean up of the area. The City would also like to thank the O’Neill Fire Department and the Departments from surrounding towns that came to help with mutual aid as well as all law enforcement officials involved.
